Sergeant Zeddemore - Die Geisterjäger Reluctant Ally

"Die Geisterjäger" are my take on alt-history, WW2 Ghostbusters. I focused on trying to capture the general likeness of the character, rather than the specific actor that portrayed them in the movies.

From the Ark of the Covenant and the Right Hand of Doom, to the Spear of Destiny and the Keep at Dinu Mountain Pass, it seems that the Nazis' quest for Supernatural power manages to always go wrong. SOMEONE has to clean up the mess, and that's where "Die Geisterjäger" come in. With the help of an unlikely ally in a British soldier trapped behind enemy lines, the team desperately tries to save the earth from enemies unknown and unknowable... even as the world is tearing itself apart.

Sergeant Zeddemore is the sole survivor of the Allied Forces' equivalent of die Geisterjäger. His team was wiped out attempting to prevent the summoning of other worldly beings by the Nazi Paranormal Division. Succeeding at the cost of the lives of every other team member, Sergeant Zeddemore found himself trapped behind enemy lines in very hostile territory. When die Geisterjäger arrived to contain the aftermath of the incident, a begrudging alliance  was formed. Of all the team, Sergeant Zeddemore is no doubt the least happy with the arrangement, but he recognizes someone has to take on the Apocalypse while the rest of the world is locked in war against itself.

Hauptmann Venkman - Die Geisterjäger Officer

Where Here Stantz is a true believer in the super natural, and Doktor Spengler is an adamant non-believer, Hauptmann Venkman simply does not care. Having been able to charm his way up the chain of command to comfortable Captain's rank, Venkman had his pick of assignments. Assuming the special project known as Die Geisterjäger would be little more than a wild goose chase, he happily accepted the responsibility for leading the operation. Now, he doesn't know what to believe, and whether it's more horrifying in his current role or back on the front lines.

Herr Stantz - Die Geisterjäger Expert

"Die Geisterjäger" are my take on alt-history, WW2 Ghostbusters. I focused on trying to capture the general likeness of the character, rather than the specific actor that portrayed them in the movies.

From the Ark of the Covenant and the Right Hand of Doom, to the Spear of Destiny and the Keep at Dinu Mountain Pass, it seems that the Nazis' quest for Supernatural power manages to always go wrong. With the help of an unlikely ally in a British soldier trapped behind enemy lines, the team desperately tries to save the earth from enemies unknown and unknowable... even as the world is tearing itself apart.

Herr Stantz is, if there is one, the heart of die Geisterjäger. Obsessive about the occult and supernatural to the point of being oblivious to the man-made horrors of the war around him, Herr Stantz is a believer in all things strange. While Doktor Spengler works out the science to make the group's ghost hunting gear work, and Sergeant Zeddemore figures out the engineering to keep the equipment working in the field, it's Herr Stantz who often comes up with the initial imaginative spark of genius that inspires each piece. Doktor Spengler remains perplexed that most of his seemingly outlandish ideas and suggestions are able to be translated into a workable prototype.

Doktor Spengler - Die Geisterjäger Scientist

"Die Geisterjäger" are my take on alt-history, WW2 Ghostbusters. I focused on trying to capture the general likeness of the character, rather than the specific actor that portrayed them in the movies.

From the Ark of the Covenant and the Right Hand of Doom, to the Spear of Destiny and the Keep at Dinu Mountain Pass, it seems that the Nazis' quest for Supernatural power manages to always go wrong. Doktor Spengler does not believe in the "paranormal." Despite his encounters with the seemingly supernatural, he maintains a theory that all such phenomena are grounded in the corporeal realm and subject to all the laws of physics and reality. Ghosts, in his opinion, are simply electromagnetic echoes left by the departed. Monsters are merely yet-to-be categorized fauna, no matter how strange they may seem. And his theories have proved solid enough to design sophisticated devices for tracking and capturing such mysteries. Still, each new encounter brings with it something even more alien and unknown than the last, and even the good doctor is beginning to wonder just long how pure science can explain these discoveries.

Pirate Couple - Cake Topper

I did a pair of custom figures for a good friend's wedding a while back, and she recently contacted me to see if I could help with her friend's cake toppers. They were looking for pirate themed toppers, as the bride had sculpted an amazing kraken to adorn the cake, but couldn't find any suitable figures for the monster to fight. The catch was, like any good wedding project, there was only a week before the big day.

It sounded like a fun challenge, so I took a shot, and I'm glad I did. The reduced deadline meant I had to look at a source of figures I normally ignore, the 3-4" static figures you normally find at specialty toy shops and craft stores. With shipping to get the figures in, and shipping to get the completed topper to the wedding on time, I had a very narrow window of time to work with.

I got some great source pictures of what the bridge and groom would be wearing, and while I didn't have time to make the figures super accurate to their source, I was able to incorporate enough details and colors to get a general likeness. And I learned that despite the lack of articulation, static figures are a source of interesting and unusual parts I would normally overlook.

Evidently everyone was very pleased with the results, and I couldn't have been happier with how they came out especially considering the time crunch and working with a new type of figure.

Dr. Mindbender - COBRA Scientist

Well, the Blue Lasers were defeated in the joecustoms.com Red Vs Blue challenge, which meant I needed to send my Red Laser counterpart a figure. I was working on red, smaller version of my COBALT mk III but just wasn't happy with how it was coming out. Luckily, I snagged a few of the DC Mulitverse Jokers and wanted to try adding more articulation to the figure, and the purple coat seemed like a good place to start for a more sophisticated look for COBRA's chief scientist, Dr. Mindbender. While going through my accessories to give him some lab equipment, I came up with the idea making the canisters hold individual test tubes. I can't decide if I'm happier with how the figure came out, or his unique gear. I'll be making one for my own collection soon.

Parts Recipe:
Dr. Mindbender - Head
Joker - Torso, Coat, and Arms
Rex "The Doctor" Lewis - Hands, Case, Cannisters, and Injection Gun
Cobra Commander - Legs and Feet
LEGO - pins for added elbow articulation
Lightsaber Tips - Test Tubes

"Scatterblast" Class Swoop Bike

Made for the 2014 yakface.com Secret Santa custom exchange, this was what I came up with for my recepient, Darth Daddy. I wanted to try something new, and decided to tackle a small scale vehicle having been inspired by the brief glimpse of the large engined speeder bike in the Force Awakens teaser trailer.

Time was tight, being around the holidays, and I've still got a lot to learn about working with vehicles, so it's a little rough around the edges, but it came out fun and I thought the "shipping crate" that went along with it made for a nice presentation.

I also made a sales letter from the swoop's manufacturer that was written in the classic "aurbesh" Star Wars font and had to be translated. I also printed it out on clear transparency material and cut the borders into a datapad like shape to make it extra "Star Wars-y".

"Greetings Sentient!

And congratulations on your acquisition of your DIE Inustries Scatterblast Class Swoop. As you know, DIE Industries’ patented dual intake engine gives your Swoop unparalleled power, and the Scatterblast’s unique over/under engine configuration is certain to turn heads.

Regrettably, recent Imperial regulations prevent us from installing the full advanced weapons upgrade you requested. We have credited your account for the cost of the package, and hope you enjoy the complimentary personal defense weapon upgrade installed in its place. Imperial regulations further require us clarify that the requested detail paint scheme is to no longer be known as “Rebel Red.” The Imperial Security Bureau has suggested “Compliance Crimson” as a replacement.

At DIE Industries, we understand you have a choice when it comes to purchasing Swoops and other high-end performance speeders, and we appreciate the chance to serve your repulsorcraft needs. We’d also like to wish you a Happy Life Day (barring any local Imperial sanctions regulating the observation said holiday in your particular sector).

Sincerly,
Faded Datheon
Chief Engineer"

COBALTs mk III - Blue Lasers Massive Mobile Armor

Another take on turning a 6" scale robot suit into a large mech in 4" scale. Simple modifications like removing the head, reversing the torso, and reversing the legs so they have a "chicken walker" style stance can really make a humanoid figure look much more robotic. I wasn't as pleased with this one as with the previous COBALTs, but I still think it came out well.

Iron Monger (Blue Variant) - Base Figure
Funskool Crimson Guard Immortal - Missile Pods
